You get to know all about this treasure and how we ensure that our customs and values are not diluted, and lost in translation. We put safeguards in place and on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A title conferred to me by \u201cNwerong and His majesty the Fon of Nkar in recognition of my efforts with the help of friends in the diaspora towards the development of the village. It is an HONORARY TITLE to that regards. Note that there are different types of \u201cSHEYS\u201d depending on individual and circumstances in which the title is a acquired. I would say in my case is an equivalent of and OBE in the UK. (not so sure)
My title consist of ; a hat, cup, bag ,and a garment (Ndeenjav) from the Nwerong sanctum which I have to wear in any traditional settings.
In my case I should be greeted with a hand shake or putting the shey title before addressing me.
At no point in time should I sit where there are Nso tittle holders with a bare head, I must have a hat .<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Shufai Wo Nsulong<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shuufai Woo Nsulong
Shuufai is the family head of the Nsulong family in Jakiri, Nso.
In the Nso traditional set up we have Fai and Shuufai who are family heads and we also have Fai and Shuufai that are honorary titles given to people for their contribution to the society. These ones are similar to the honors given out here by the Queen
When approaching a Shuufai to greet him men are expected to have their hands cupped to their mouth and the women to bow down.
We answer to and greet the Shuufai with Hmmmmm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

shuufai Wo Tohti Ngai<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awarded to Alex Maindze<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The honorary title was graciously bestowed upon me by His Royal Highness, the Fon of Nso and Nwerong Nso, in memory of his late uncle, ‘Tohti Ngai’. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My uncle was a distinguished advocate and self-appointed enforcer for sanitation, health, and safety and other cultural values. He is particularly renowned for his innovative work in boring windows in Ngai Nso, which gave birth to the appellation \u2018Tohti Ngai\u2019. This title complements their ongoing efforts in safeguarding and protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults within our community.
Responsibilities that come with the title include upholding and promoting NSO culture and values. There is also the responsibility to unify people, foster understanding, and resolve conflicts among individuals, families, and communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This role requires upholding principles of fairness, justice, and inclusivity, striving to create environments where diverse voices can coexist harmoniously.
As already stated elsewhere; When greeting a Shuufai, men are expected to approach with their hands cupped to their mouths, while women are to bow down. When addressing the Shuufai, we respond and greet them with “Hmmmmm” and refer to them in the third person, using “they” and “them.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Shey <\/strong>Johannness<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Title : Taa Nchelav Joannes Jaidzeka<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Origin <\/strong>: Honor from the Fon and confirmed by Nwerong Nso, for the efforts put in,in bringing together Ncheselav se Nwerong, irrespective of the palace. This was particularly in Douala, as Ngwan woo Douala( Barcelone, Bonamoussadi and Bonaberi) carried alot of projects towards peace and unity, headed by me. This one among many others,not to be shared.
Role<\/strong>: To bring together and foster the growth of Nso not only Nchelav . To make sure respect for traditional values is maintained and respected by all and their capabilities.
I am can be greeted with the hand by all men.
In the absence of a Taa Ntoh and Nchelav Fa\u00ef, I can pass across the Royal Message( Ntum se Ntoh) on official matters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Shey Cyril Nyuyse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Title<\/strong>: Shey Fomonyuy Cyril Nyuyse. This esteemed title was graciously bestowed upon me by the Fon of Nso and Nwerong Nso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Origin<\/strong>: The year was September 2009 when this honor was bestowed upon me, a token of appreciation for my dedication to humanity. I played an active role in the construction of “Nsan Vikiiy Ntoh” (the dwellings of the Fon’s wives). Together with Kifu Ke Samba, we embarked on this project with genuine intentions, receiving tremendous support. As Kifu Ke Samba’s envoy, I had the privilege of delivering our contribution to the Fon. Both individual and collective gestures were warmly embraced by the Fon and the Mwerong, culminating in the bestowment of the title Shey Fomonyuy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
